Tey Tsun Hang: Wayang king, constant womanizer, ISD snitch?

The case of former district judge and NUS professor Tey Tsun Hang has thrown up surprises that will put a Filipino soap drama to shame. Singaporeans have already witnessed his over-the-top play acting during his trial, where Tey vomited saliva and hyperventilated. We also hear about how stingy he was as the boyfriend of Darrine Ko, refusing to pay for meals and even asking her to pay for her own abortion. If that wasn't sufficient, last week, an obscure Australian magazine called The Monthly, reported that Tey was forced to be an ISD snitch and submitted his academic writings for censorship.

Before this, I am not sure how many Singaporeans actually heard of this magazine or why it suddenly wrote the article "Censorship, sex and scandal in Singapore". Read the full article here

"Almost three years ago, Singapore’s Internal Security Department (ISD) approached Tey Tsun Hang, a Malaysian-born law associate professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), about becoming a “listening post” – meaning that he would provide information about goings-on in the law faculty, including his own work. In return, Tey would meet the ISD’s boss: someone who could “protect” Tey in the future. Left unsaid was that the ISD, Singapore’s secret police, who hold the power to detain indefinitely without charge or trial, could have easily revoked Tey’s permanent residency status.
“It’s a necessary evil and compromise for me,” Tey wrote to a colleague in September 2010 about the arrangement. “I feel cowardly. Without academic spine.” The colleague counselled a softly, softly approach, to “engage and persuade, not confront and antagonise”. Tey countered that the results would be “half-truth scholarship” and he would be a “collaborator [who] pretends [his work] is not censored when it is”. Still, the next day Tey sent copies of all of his academic work to his ISD contact, asking the officer “to let me know which parts/pages/paragraphs/lines are not allowed and must be taken out”."
The Australian article is well-written but if you read carefully, it seems to imply that any PR in Singapore can be easily turned by ISD into a snitch just because he could lose his residency in a blink. I think it's not so simple, there should be more to this.

Then, just yesterday, someone claiming to be a former colleague of Tey when he was the district judge, wrote in Sammyboy forum that Tey had to resign from the legal service because he was caught writing poison pen letters to his fellow judges and superiors. And get this, ISD was involved in the investigations.

According to this person, Tey was having an affair with the HR manager who told him that he was ranked last in his job. Tey couldn't accept it when he found out and he began to write poison letters  accusing his colleague of sleeping with the Chief Justice and his boss of mismanagement. So enforcement agencies were called in and he had to resign - which is a light punishment if you ask me. The interesting twist is, how the hell did Tey manage to get a job at NUS after this? And how did his fuck buddy, Chen Sei Lee, continue to work in civil service? Were they "turned" by ISD then? Was Tey sent to NUS to snitch on his colleagues?

But having fucked a student and made her pregnant, I guess what has to be emerge will finally emerge. Maybe Tey was getting bolder with his sexual fantasies once he thought he had the protection of ISD.

On the other hand, I have to give it to this Tey guy. He's married to a Japanese wife with a 15 year old daughter. From what I have seen so far, most of them like toys and moan like crazy. He's got a string of affairs from his time as a judge and he seems to be still fucking this Chen Sei Lee, calling her as a defence witness. And his crowning glory is surely breaking the virginity of his student and getting her pregnant and making her pay for the abortion bill! What a foreign talent!

He seemed to have everything then, a Japanese wife, a seemingly bright future … but then it all turned to nought. No one knows why such a “talent” left the judiciary and took on a mediocre teaching job in NUS Law.
You guessed it. It all boils down to his wandering dick. This bright dashing young legal eagle was like god’s gift to women, nicknamed Judge Romeo. Like his ego, Tey’s gavel knew no limits, hammering furiously, a string of affairs with many legal service female officers while presiding pompously in his judge’s chair...
But Judge Romeo was unsatisfied, he needed to know when he was going to lord over a bigger courtroom and so he put his charm to good use and ended up in the private chambers of one Chen Sei Lee.... Sei Lee had something that Tey wanted desperately; she was the all-important LSC HR manager and she held the key to this enchanted excel sheet that listed everybody’s CEP and ranking...
Shortly after, the austere serenity of our judicial chambers were rocked by a slew of poison pen letters that were sent to several judges and magistrates, Lee PC, Roy N, Ronald G, Lau W Y, just to name a few. The letter depicted one “princess” of CJ Yong, also a judge, who not only was the bird that brought tales to the CJ, but was also rather attentive to CJ’s needs in his private chambers...
The full spectrum of enforcement agencies were called upon to investigate these poison letters that called into question the sanctified morals of our esteemed colleagues....
Apparently, Tey, after some serious pro-bonko work with his star mistress Sei Lee, found out through some pillow cross-examination the confidential rankings of all the district judges. His ego screamed bloody murder when he realised that Magnus had ranked him in the bottom tier among the junior district judges....
Now, this is where it all becomes a bit hazy. According to my boss then, what happened next was that Tey’s balls shrivelled and he ended up grovelling like a dog, bawling like a baby in front of the 3 kings in the judiciary then, Magnus, Yong Pung How and Chan Sek Keong.
So they exercised some judicial pardon and Tey was not sacked. He “resigned” from service and somehow still managed to land himself in NUS Law where he certainly let his dick roam free again – from litifucker to lecturfucker....
