Tey Tsun Hang: Wayang king, constant womanizer, ISD snitch?

The case of former district judge and NUS professor Tey Tsun Hang has thrown up surprises that will put a Filipino soap drama to shame. Singaporeans have already witnessed his over-the-top play acting during his trial, where Tey vomited saliva and hyperventilated. We also hear about how stingy he was as the boyfriend of Darrine Ko, refusing to pay for meals and even asking her to pay for her own abortion. If that wasn't sufficient, last week, an obscure Australian magazine called The Monthly, reported that Tey was forced to be an ISD snitch and submitted his academic writings for censorship.

Before this, I am not sure how many Singaporeans actually heard of this magazine or why it suddenly wrote the article "Censorship, sex and scandal in Singapore". Read the full article here

"Almost three years ago, Singapore’s Internal Security Department (ISD) approached Tey Tsun Hang, a Malaysian-born law associate professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), about becoming a “listening post” – meaning that he would provide information about goings-on in the law faculty, including his own work. In return, Tey would meet the ISD’s boss: someone who could “protect” Tey in the future. Left unsaid was that the ISD, Singapore’s secret police, who hold the power to detain indefinitely without charge or trial, could have easily revoked Tey’s permanent residency status.
“It’s a necessary evil and compromise for me,” Tey wrote to a colleague in September 2010 about the arrangement. “I feel cowardly. Without academic spine.” The colleague counselled a softly, softly approach, to “engage and persuade, not confront and antagonise”. Tey countered that the results would be “half-truth scholarship” and he would be a “collaborator [who] pretends [his work] is not censored when it is”. Still, the next day Tey sent copies of all of his academic work to his ISD contact, asking the officer “to let me know which parts/pages/paragraphs/lines are not allowed and must be taken out”."
The Australian article is well-written but if you read carefully, it seems to imply that any PR in Singapore can be easily turned by ISD into a snitch just because he could lose his residency in a blink. I think it's not so simple, there should be more to this.

Then, just yesterday, someone claiming to be a former colleague of Tey when he was the district judge, wrote in Sammyboy forum that Tey had to resign from the legal service because he was caught writing poison pen letters to his fellow judges and superiors. And get this, ISD was involved in the investigations.

According to this person, Tey was having an affair with the HR manager who told him that he was ranked last in his job. Tey couldn't accept it when he found out and he began to write poison letters  accusing his colleague of sleeping with the Chief Justice and his boss of mismanagement. So enforcement agencies were called in and he had to resign - which is a light punishment if you ask me. The interesting twist is, how the hell did Tey manage to get a job at NUS after this? And how did his fuck buddy, Chen Sei Lee, continue to work in civil service? Were they "turned" by ISD then? Was Tey sent to NUS to snitch on his colleagues?

But having fucked a student and made her pregnant, I guess what has to be emerge will finally emerge. Maybe Tey was getting bolder with his sexual fantasies once he thought he had the protection of ISD.

On the other hand, I have to give it to this Tey guy. He's married to a Japanese wife with a 15 year old daughter. From what I have seen so far, most of them like toys and moan like crazy. He's got a string of affairs from his time as a judge and he seems to be still fucking this Chen Sei Lee, calling her as a defence witness. And his crowning glory is surely breaking the virginity of his student and getting her pregnant and making her pay for the abortion bill! What a foreign talent!

Read the full revelations here and here

He seemed to have everything then, a Japanese wife, a seemingly bright future … but then it all turned to nought. No one knows why such a “talent” left the judiciary and took on a mediocre teaching job in NUS Law.
You guessed it. It all boils down to his wandering dick. This bright dashing young legal eagle was like god’s gift to women, nicknamed Judge Romeo. Like his ego, Tey’s gavel knew no limits, hammering furiously, a string of affairs with many legal service female officers while presiding pompously in his judge’s chair...
But Judge Romeo was unsatisfied, he needed to know when he was going to lord over a bigger courtroom and so he put his charm to good use and ended up in the private chambers of one Chen Sei Lee.... Sei Lee had something that Tey wanted desperately; she was the all-important LSC HR manager and she held the key to this enchanted excel sheet that listed everybody’s CEP and ranking...
Shortly after, the austere serenity of our judicial chambers were rocked by a slew of poison pen letters that were sent to several judges and magistrates, Lee PC, Roy N, Ronald G, Lau W Y, just to name a few. The letter depicted one “princess” of CJ Yong, also a judge, who not only was the bird that brought tales to the CJ, but was also rather attentive to CJ’s needs in his private chambers...
The full spectrum of enforcement agencies were called upon to investigate these poison letters that called into question the sanctified morals of our esteemed colleagues....
Apparently, Tey, after some serious pro-bonko work with his star mistress Sei Lee, found out through some pillow cross-examination the confidential rankings of all the district judges. His ego screamed bloody murder when he realised that Magnus had ranked him in the bottom tier among the junior district judges....
Now, this is where it all becomes a bit hazy. According to my boss then, what happened next was that Tey’s balls shrivelled and he ended up grovelling like a dog, bawling like a baby in front of the 3 kings in the judiciary then, Magnus, Yong Pung How and Chan Sek Keong.
So they exercised some judicial pardon and Tey was not sacked. He “resigned” from service and somehow still managed to land himself in NUS Law where he certainly let his dick roam free again – from litifucker to lecturfucker....

What do recent sex scandals have in common?

So what do they have in common? Malaysia, Chinese, NUS and Law!

The Malaysians in Singapore seem to be having a much more exciting sex life than Singaporeans recently. The latest is sex scandal is by an ASEAN Scholar who is studying law in NUS, Alvin Tan Jye Yee and his girlfriend, Vivian. He probably wanted to outdo Prof Tey Tsun Hang and started his own sex blog and baring it all. There was also a posting where he invited readers to join them in a swing party (meaning to exchange partners). Honestly, I wouldn't mind but after looking at the picture posted by them, I think his partner may be overused and may not even be in a conducive condition (Don't know what I mean? Click here (http://goo.gl/UU3bR). So I will pass until another better offer by someone else comes along.

However for those interested, you can email him at alvivi.swingers@gmail.com. These are what I managed to capture before the blog was deleted (http://goo.gl/90Sq9)

But is it me or do both couple have similar facial features?

Prof Tey - Does silent means admission?

Prof Tey Tsun Hang, 41, arrived in court on 24 Aug 2012 (Thurs) afternoon with his lawyer for a pre-trial conference. Reacting differently from his previous encounters with reporters, Prof Tey refused to reply to the queries made by reporters. When constantly pushed for an answer if he had indeed had sex with his student, Darinne Ko Wen Hui, between May and July 2010, Prof Tey smiled but decline to comment further. Many may assumed that this would mean a silent admission as the answer should be simple and blunt if otherwise, nonetheless, I guess we will know in mid October 2012 when he is due to appear in court again. the trial is expected to last for 9 days.

Darinne Ko only got a B rating from Prof Tey

Reports by the local Chinese tabloid have pointed out that Prof Tey only gave Darinne Ko a B grade for sleeping with him. Thus far, they have not managed to interview someone who got an A from Prof Tey to find out the difference.

If Darinne only got a B, Prof Tey might not be guilty of corruption but only at fault for improper sexual conduct with his student.

Other reports in the Chinese tabloid said that she likes to wear mini-skirts and dislike wearing long skirts. Described as 'tomboyish', it is unsure if long skirts 'got in the way' of her movements. Her friends still cannot believe the RJC school runner would have an affair with her professor.

Darinne wrote herself on the internet that it is cool and exciting to meet prominent lawyers even though she felt 'small' in front of them.

If the sex-for-grades case is proven in court, Darinne might lose her law degree.

Prof Tey was a white horse

Prof Tey Tsun Hang a "white horse"

Despite being investigated in Apr by CPIB in the sex-for-grades case, Prof Tey Tsun Hang was allowed to continue teaching in NUS Law School until 26 July when he was charged in court and then suspended by NUS Law School on the same day.

Such special treatment was not granted to former SCDF Commissioner Peter Lim, ex-CNB Director Ng Boon Gay and NParks' Bernard Lim. These men were all suspended from duty once CPIB began investigations. Why is Prof Tey any different?

Unknown to many Singaporeans, Prof Tey is the favourite of the current NUS Law School Dean, Prof Simon Chesterman, who also happens to be the son-in-law of Singapore's President Tony Tan. Prof Chesterman allowed Prof Tey to continue teaching young impressionable female students while drawing his salary despite being fully aware of the on-going CPIB investigations.

Even though Prof Tey has broken the moral trust between teacher and student, NUS continues to place faith in him.

Prof Tey is a close associate of various judges and men in the corridors of power that rule. Otherwise, how would a Singapore PR and Malaysian come to be appointed as a district judge and state counsel in Singapore where political masters are especially wary of enemies from up north. How often do you see a PR in the upper echelons of the civil service?

There are speculations saying that Prof Tey might be not be convicted of the charges or the punishment would be a light slap on the wrist due to some back-door brokering.

A FORMER LAWYER

*The reader also shared that this is not the first extra-marital affair that Prof Tey had. He will be sharing more details with this website later.

Popular local political forum sammyboy leaked that Prof Tey came from a rich Malaysian family and had connections with Singapore elite.

While there are theories speculating that Prof Tey was charged because of his academic writings that are critical of the regime, many have pointed out that he is of no threat to the MIW and what he has written is common knowledge in Singapore cyberspace.

Public interest is still whether Prof Tey had screwed Darinne Ko where, when and how. Was Darinne Ko sent to 'fix' Prof Tey? It seems unlikely as Darinne is also from a rich and elite family. Or was Prof Tey unable to control his beastly instincts that drove him to taste the forbidden fruit of his 20 year-old student?

More Photos: Who is Darinne Ko? A Christian?

Contributed by RJ mates

So much commotion about Darinne Ko’s extra spicy sex rendezvous with her NUS Law Prof Tey Tsun Hang, but little is known about her interests and personal life. Yes, we all know that she a sucker for high life and aspire to be a top lawyer in Singapore working in a top law firm, but those who went to JC with her also know her as a Christian.

Yet another Christian has succumbed to temptation and sinned just like Kong Hee and the gang.

Darrine is a self-confessed Trinitarian. From her blog postings at darinnebeackham.blogspot, she sounded pious and an extremely devoted Christian. Wrote poems on Jesus, proclaimed her thanks to God for all the blessings and good life.

Back in 2008, she sounded excited when she found out she was going to the NUS law school. I mean who wouldn’t, but we didn't expect that she would sleep for her grades although she was always kinda flirty. However, Darinne stopped updating her blog after 2009. I have no idea if she is still a Christian now, but she has definitely shamed her family, her church, her employer and her schools (NUS and RJC).  Sorry Darinne, you should have known it would come to this.

Darinne was very active in JC. She participated in biathlons and marathons. That explains her drive, determination and ambitious nature and it always made me wonder about her stamina on and off the track. Come to think of it, she had all the qualities back in JC to achieve what she has today.

Back in school, we never really knew why she like "beckham" so much, now it all makes sense.

Will Darinne Ko be protected by the law?

Back in April, 48 men were prosecuted for paying for the sexual services of an underaged (below 18 years old) prostitute. Due to the girl being underaged, there was a gag order enforced by the court to prevent the name of the 17 years old ITE student "Steph" being made public.

Prominent lawyer Subhas Anadan said back then, “I objected to it [the gag order] on the basis that the provisions of the law do not protect people like her because she’s not a victim of rape or molest, and provisions do not apply.”

But with the "leaky" cyberspace these days, no gag order can be effectively enforced without the cooperation of the netizens.

Darinne Ko, the law student who allegedly had sex with NUS Law lecturer Prof Tey Tsun Hang in exchange for better grades, had apparently confided in a friend over her relationship with Prof Tey. The matter subsequently came to the attention of CPIB.
Despite being investigated since April, NUS has not suspended Prof Tey and allowed him to continue roaming the campus.

Details have surfaced that Darinne Ko initiated contact with Prof Tey and seduced him in exchange for superior grades. Tey now faces six counts of corruption while Darinne is not known to face any charges. Although both Darinne and "Steph" had an active and critical role to play in their respective cases, women are often more protected by Singapore law.

In addition to sexual favours, Tey allegedly received from Darinne a Mont Blanc pen worth S$740, two tailor-made shirts valued at S$236.20, an iPod Touch worth S$160 and payment of a bill amounting to S$1,278.60. It is not known if Darinne treated Tey to delicacies such as superior abalone; but with a law professor's five figure salary it is indeed unusual why such "cheap" gifts were given.

Like Kong Hee who said that he would be vindicated if his side of the story was heard, Prof Tey proclaimed, "I pray for a worthy trial -- a trial that allows the truth to come to light, a trial that allows me to vindicate myself."

Update: Court documents have released the name of Darinne Ko. See report here.

Prof Tey Tsun Hang

ITE Student "Steph"

Difference in treatment between Prof Tey and Bernard Lim

Due to the brilliant CSI work by HWZ forummers, NParks officer Bernard Lim, who was in-charge of the government tender for Brompton bicycles, was shown to be suspiciously connected to the suppliers who eventually won the bid. After NParks' internal audit found discrepancies, Bernard was suspended from duty and the case referred to CPIB.

However, in another case, despite being arrested called up CPIB in April and subsequently arrested, Prof Tey Tsun Hang from NUS Law School, continued to work and teach on-campus until the current academic term ended.

He is now out on bail and his profile can still be seen on NUS Law School, Asia's Global Law School. No discipline action has been taken by NUS and the Prof is even going for his sabbatical leave next month possibly on his full salary. This is a stark difference as compared to the treatment given to Bernard Lim.

Prof Tey is being accused of giving good grades to a student in exchange for sexual favours. It is unsure if Prof Tey only received oral sex like ex-CNB Chief Ng Boon Gay or went the whole nine-yards with the student half his age. Sources close to the matter have informed that the student involved goes by the name of Darinne Ko.

Ms Ko was said to have confided in a friend about her relationship with Prof Tey and the improper conduct was later brought to the attention of CPIB. Meanwhile, despite being aware of the investigations into sexual impropriety between lecturer and student, NUS continues to let the Prof roam around campus.

Prof Ko, who does not look like he is in his 40s, is said to be gregarious, funny and popular with the students. He is a brilliant lawyer and law professor and was worked as a State Counsellor and District Judge prior to his appointment with NUS. It is unknown if the courts are reviewing the judgements passed by Tey when he was a district judge. Prof Tey is married to a Japanese wife and they have a child.
