SMU Handa Centre's Links with Japanese New Religion Cult

 Dr. Haruhisa Handa
(The Sponsor for SMU's Handa Centre for Global Governance and Human Rights)

Below is an intriguing email that was initially sent to The Real Singapore, but eventually found its way to the Singapore Hall of Shame (SHS). It details the shocking failure of both the mainstream media and the new media to conduct basic story research and fact checks.

Bro,
Your CSI articles against ST reporter Miss Maria Almenoar are epic! Standards of msm reporting is really in the dumpster and we need people like you who can show the world why they are the 154thmedia. I was thinking of doing my own csi on ST reporter Tessa Wong but I think I wont have the same impact as you.
Tessa wong wrote a piece on SMU cancelling the opening of Handa centre for global governance and human rights (http://www.singapolitics.sg/news/smu-cancels-opening-research-centre). Typical shoddy report from the sph school of gutter reporting. If she bothered to do some simple google searches, she would learn that dr Haruhisa Handa (the financial backer of the centre) runs a Shinto-derived religion “Worldmate” (formerly known as Cosmomate (eos.kokugakuin.ac.jp and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinto_sects_and_schools).

Being a typical sham new age religions, Worldmate is a derivative of Buddhism that conducts secret rituals and sells cheap trinkets passing off as religious tokens. Under the cover of charity and welfare, Worldmate extends its influence and cash pool across the world. As they expand into new countries, its devotees increase and so too does their cash purse. I get this information from a 2003 court case involving Worldmate, Dr Harushia Handa and Tojusha Publishing inc (www.wmdata.main.jp/saiban.html). The Tokyo national tax bureau found that Worldmate concealed 6 billion yen of income. This money is collected from followers as fees for the exorcism of evil spirits. Also, Handa was sued by his female followers for sexual harassment! He settled this with 5.5. million Yen for each of his victims. Now they remain quiet as part of the settlement deal.

But organisations like SMU love people like Handa because he can bring in loads of money to be patron of centres and no one cares about where he got the money from. Curtin university set up one such centre thru his patronage (www.smh.com.au/entertainment/opera/behind-every-good-opera-theres-a-very-generous-patron). Handa has also delivered aid to the fukushima nuclear meltdown recovery efforts (huffingtonpost.com/katherine-marshall/311-in-japan-untold-stor_b_1336636.html). I wouldn’t be surprised that at his level of influence and connections to Shinto religion, he is somehow financed by Yakuza.

But we will never know the full truth unless the ST covers the indepth story. But I doubt tessa wong will give me the time of day. I hope this information is useful for you bro.

The questionable character of Dr Handa is shocking and warrants deeper inspection. SHS intends to take this up with SMU and relevant authorities.

But what is equally shocking is that this information is easily verified, and can be surfaced through a few quick online searches. It thus makes you wonder how everyone could have missed this?

For instance, when TOC first broke the news on the premature closing of the Handa centre, some of this information on Dr Handa was posted on The Online Citizen’s (TOC) Facebook page but was it went unnoticed by the public.

Alex Au, of Yawningbread fame, was also surprisingly found wanting on this aspect. Grabbing the opportunity to take a swipe at Government, Mr Au could not see beyond Dr Handa’s tag of ‘philanthropist’ (http://yawningbread.wordpress.com/2012/11/12/neither-priest-nor-philanthropist-welcome-here/), and failed to research into how Dr Handa misused and abused these monies and his position.

The most disappointing of all was The Real Singapore (TRS). Pre- occupied with stealing articles from the MSM and other blogs, TRS could not recognise a real scoop that landed on its lap. From our checks with the whistleblower, TRS did not even acknowledge his email. In fact, TRS was not the only socio-political blog to ignore him.

Not being the first choice amongst the local websites was ego bruising but understandable since I just started not so long ago. Nonetheless, it has become a real gain for SHS as I find it news worthy.

So if you have someone to shame, an issue to publicise, a cause to gain support or just something to share, feel free to email me at sghallofshame@gmail.com or like me on facebook at www.facebook.com/sporehallofshame. SHS - Bringing out the worse in Singaporeans.

Here is something about Me

After the last article exposing the existence of "My Compass", I received several requests from netizens asking when the next article will be published. I feel that I have to explain the purpose of my existence and what you can expect from this little blog of mine.

Being a one-man managed blog, there is only so much that I can do as I still have full-time job. I simply do not have the time to post daily. Besides, I only want to post meaningful articles. I hope this little place of mine can Share stories, Hinder falsehood, Agitate hypocrites, Maim Propaganda and Educate readers of the truth (SHAME). If you have any stories to share with me, please do not hesitate to write to me at sghallofshame@gmail.com or like me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sporehallofshame. My only requirement is that you verify as much information as you possibly can. However, I may not publish it if I think the information is not reliable.

I will be publishing the next article “Who are the main PAP IB behind My Compass” in a few days so stay tuned. For the involved parties, please do not trouble yourself in deleting anything as I have screenshot everything that I need.

Inside the World of the PAP Internet Brigade

Much has been mentioned within the internet about the existence of the PAP Internet Brigade (a.k.a “PAP IB”), but few know how this secretive group operates, and who their puppet-masters are. The Singapore Hall of Shame (SHS) was given exclusive access to their inner workings thanks to one of their former members; Agent Kelly.

My Compass

The SHS plans to publish a series of articles, shedding light on their structure, their identities, and their methods. As a start, we explore the secretive Facebook Group, “My Compass”.

There are 4 “My Compass” administrators whom co-ordinate communication strategies for 260 members. Access to this by invitation-only group, is via recommendations of existing trusted members.

Upon receiving instructions by the administrators, unquestioning members spring into action to counter unfavourable chatter forming against PAP members or its linked entities. They operate in large numbers with the primary objective of drowning out negative comments and derailing the discussions on the internet.
In addition, they also monitor Facebook activities of opposition parties, and call for reinforcements to help counter statements that are critical of the ruling party. On mundane days, typical actions including like-ing the FB pages of the PAP MPs to boast the popularity of MPs. Some of their communications and actions are captured below:

Members asked to "like" an MP

Members Updated about Key PAP Members

Concerted Effort to Comment on Opposition

 Defending their Area of Interest

How they take down a FB posting

Members asked to "like" a FB Page

 Discussion on Opposition Members

 Discussion on Anti-PAP Posting

Why should the average citizen be concerned about groups like “My Compass”?

The PAP Internet Brigade gives an artificial impression that PAP members (especially MPs) are well-liked, and that PAP policies are well-loved by its citizens. More importantly, their actions are counter-productive to efforts by netizens to critically engage policy makers, and present an inaccurate picture of policy reception.
The story does not end here, so stay tuned for more exciting exposes that are sure to shock and astound.
Note from SHS editor: Your FB friend could actually be a PAP IB agent. If you have any information on them, you can email me directly at sghallofshame@gmail.com. SHS ensures confidentially of all information received.

What do recent sex scandals have in common?

So what do they have in common? Malaysia, Chinese, NUS and Law!

The Malaysians in Singapore seem to be having a much more exciting sex life than Singaporeans recently. The latest is sex scandal is by an ASEAN Scholar who is studying law in NUS, Alvin Tan Jye Yee and his girlfriend, Vivian. He probably wanted to outdo Prof Tey Tsun Hang and started his own sex blog and baring it all. There was also a posting where he invited readers to join them in a swing party (meaning to exchange partners). Honestly, I wouldn't mind but after looking at the picture posted by them, I think his partner may be overused and may not even be in a conducive condition (Don't know what I mean? Click here (http://goo.gl/UU3bR). So I will pass until another better offer by someone else comes along.

However for those interested, you can email him at alvivi.swingers@gmail.com. These are what I managed to capture before the blog was deleted (http://goo.gl/90Sq9)

But is it me or do both couple have similar facial features?

Prof Tey is Rumpole in Sammyboy?

I recently received an article from a reader which is the kind that I normally would not publish. The allegations are unverifiable. This guy claim that Prof Tey is masqueradingin sammyboy forum and commenting about his case using the name Rumpole. I do not know how true so you guys be the judge of this.

Hi,
I'm writing to expose this Prof Tey who is the main actor in the sex-for-grade case which involves NUS graduate, Darrine Ko. (See this article for detail of the matter http://temasektimes.wordpress.com/2012/07/27/nus-law-prof-charged-with-obtaining-sexual-favors-from-student-darinne-ko-wen-hui/)
For a person of his status, he would definitely not go down without a fight. For those who are unfamilar with him, this is a brief on his career in Singapore.
(Tsun Hang Tey is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. He was previously a Law Clerk to the former Chief Justice of Singapore, a District Judge of the Subordinate Courts, and a State Counsel at the Legislation Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers of Singapore. He was a member of the editorial committees of the Singapore Journal of Legal Studies and the Singapore Journal of International and Comparative Law, and the Executive Committee of the Centre for Commercial Law Studies. Until 2008, he was the Deputy Chief Editor of Singapore Year Book of International Law. He is now the Director of Centre for Commercial Law Studies and the Editor of the Asian Journal of Comparative Law.)
With such extensive experience in the legal service, he probably knows all this:
    • The Singapore legal system and its loop-hole, if any.
    • The ingredient required to make up the case against him.
    • The considerations made by AGC even before charging him.
    • The common mistakes committed by investigators and what they would normally miss.
He knows that his case is of public interest and many people will follow it closely when the trial starts. He also knows that (like it or not) public perception would also affect the outcome of the case and there had been many examples previously that public reaction matters in the final judgement.
This is why there had been articles claiming that the charge was because he had written politically charged academic publications against the state. The objective of those articles were to gain support from government critics and create noise within the cyberspace and hopefully it will pressurised the authorities. We shouldn't forget that this guy in question is a Malaysian who married a Japanese and frequents Hong Kong. Other than his Singapore based job which he had made very good money from, this guy practically has no relation with Singapore.
One of the earliest persona who spoke up strongly for Prof Tey is this “Rumpole” from the infamous sammyboy forum. Soon after all hell break loose with the MSM publishing about the case, he started a thread “Fixing the Opposition Again? Please don’t be fooled by the Latest Sex Scandal!” (http://sammyboy.com/showthread.php?123517-Fixing-the-Opposition-Again-Please-don%E2%80%99t-be-fooled-by-the-Latest-Sex-Scandal!). Similar to Tey, “Rumpole” postings were on legal matters, Hong Kong vs Singapore and of course mainly on Prof Tey's impending case. “Rumpole” only interest in contributing to the forum seems to be for furthering his course in “defending” Tey. His subject of interest and knowledge also seem so close to Tey, one could not but wonder if Tey could very well be “Rumpole” in sammyboy.com. More so since Tey knows that he cannot comment publicly while his case is still under investigation. The objective? To create awareness, alliance and maybe even sympathy prior to the case being mention in the open court. This is what some call it “preparing the ground”.
I guess after the attention was recently shifted to former Director CNB's sex-for-favour case, Rumpole felt for the need to maintain his presence and started a new thread “Rumpole Strikes Again: A Tale of Two Dioceses & Two Peoples” (http://sammyboy.com/showthread.php?128424-Rumpole-Strikes-Again-A-Tale-of-Two-Dioceses-amp-Two-Peoples). This time to stir the sentiment of the local Catholic community and to form alliance with whoever he can. I guess people who read about the posting made by Rumpole should bear this in mind that he could very well be a person with personal vested interest.
