Hope you can highlight this gross fabrication so that readers will not be deceive by TRS!
In the midst of heightened anti-foreigners strife particularly targeted at the PRCs, a greenhorn in alternative news media who called themselves The Real Singapore (TRS), leaped at this opportunity and published a fabricated story in an attempt to stir up racist hatred against foreigners. TRS had posted photo of China flags and claimed that it hung across an open padang area at the Marina Bay Gardens By the Bay. TRS further claimed that hundreds of PRC nationals sung the China national anthem.
This story is untrue as in actuality the dated photo was taken from a China website www.rayallychina.com and it was dated Oct 2009! Please see the attached screenshots for the original of the photo.
Yang Kaiheng is the editor of TRS and opposition politician Alex Tan is a contributor at TRS but it is unknown if he has greater role in the newly established alternative news media. Another contributor known as Ai Takagi is a rumoured girlfriend of Yang Kaiheng.
