Alfian Saat's Untold Secrets

According to Wikipedia (probably written by Alfian Sa'at himself), he is claimed to be known for his provocative works and is often referred to as his country's enfant terrible (Ia French term for a child who is terrifyingly candid by saying embarrassing things to adults). He is said to have been nominated for best script award at the Local Life Theater Awards 5 times. Some of his work was mentioned to have touched on homosexuality and Singapore-Malaysia bilateral relations.

However, what that was not mentioned in Wiki was that in 2007, Alfian was removal from his relief teaching position in Ministry of Education for “not best meet the organisation's requirements”. He had been feeling sore and dejected ever since. This could be the reason why although born and raised in Singapore, Alfian somehow decided to seek refuge and shelter in Malaysia which he had since fondly describe with admiration. I would call it a blessing in disguise since Alfian had been posting happy stuff on his FB from Malaysia. Sadly, Alfian fails to realise the hypocrisy of his postings while doing so.

You see, Alfian has incessantly pronounce his dejection of treatment as second class citizen and the lackadaisical perception of Malays. So Alfian started travelling to Malaysia to sell his plays and books. When he is there, he repeated praise Malaysians for being tolerant towards him. He then turned around and mock at Singapore and Singaporeans. As a Malay saying goes "Bagai kacang lupakn kulit" (direct translation is "nut that forgets of its shell") meaning "somebody who forget his/her origins". This aptly applies to Alfian as he forgot his orgin so much that he took the effort to diss the entire NDP Song (http://newnation.sg/2012/07/alfian-saats-genius-take-on-ndp-song/) point by point.

Alfian Saat proclaimed himself to be a proud Muslim. When Alfian posted that Halal food is very common in Malaysia, many of his FB friends applauded him for insisting on having Halal food and keeping his faith strong. However, unknown to many, Alfian Saat is a gay Muslim and the boyfriend is a Chinese. Could this be the underlying reason for him feeling dejected in Singapore?

I am sure Alfian knows that homosexuality is forbidden in Islam, it is taboo. It is a crime that is punishable by death in countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. For Malaysia, it is a guaranteed capital punishment. Just look at what happened to Anwar Ibrahim. Being known as homosexual can destory everything in a person's life.

If you are a boy, you cannot dress like a girl. This is “haram” too.

One can argue that he was born this way just like Kumar (Singapore's funniest drag queen) or maybe there were also famous gay writers like Tennessee Williams, James Baldwin or Allen Ginsberg but sadly, if you are Muslim, you cannot be gay. Period. There is also no way that you can and will be accepted in Malaysia where many of its policies are aligned with Islam.

Oh...I wonder how does Alfian feel when the Malaysians call Singapore dog during the last Suzuki Cup (http://sg.sports.yahoo.com/news/malaysia-dog-football-chant-riles-singapore-fans-055434743--sow.html). How do you feel being called a dog by people from the same country that you admire so much?

So good luck Aflian and stop contridicting yourself.

(Editor's Note: I have to clarify that nothing against Gays. In fact, I hang out with some on a regular basis. I just dislike people who are so gutless to comment on government polices objectively for fear of backlash but is ever critical on racial stuff and stoking resentment amongst races from a distance.)

SMU Not Answering Questions on Handa's Links to Cult

As a continuation to the earlier article, SMU Handa Centre's Links with Japanese New Religion Cult (http://sporehallofshame.blogspot.sg/2012/11/smu-handa-centres-links-with-japanese.html), I emailed SMU with some questions on 19 Nov 2012, hoping for some reply.

Sadly, there has been no reply even till today. Maybe it was to prevent further embarrassment resulting from the incident. Being a school, I expected them to be open and ever willing to admit their shortcoming, similar to what they had taught their students. I guess I was wrong.

P.S - It was funny that they even tried to "recall" their email after sending it (maybe they wanted to just ignore my mails). They may wish to know that it only work for internal emails within the school. Not for those external ones like gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc.

The Insider Story of an Online Pimp

Many know that Singapore is the city of sex where commercial sex is abundant. The men in Singapore have no lack of places to have their sexual needs attended to when the need arises. For those who are unfamiliar, traditionally, commercial sex can be found in the assigned houses along even lanes of Geylang (these are regulated), street walkers along the small lanes of Geylang (these are not regulated), Massage Parlours(usually those with skimpy dressed women outside), Health Centers usually in Hotels, etc.

Similar to other trades, commercial sex eventually made its way into cyberspace. This provided conveniences to clients, and a false sense of security to pimps and the unregulated prostitutes.

SHS managed to get an exclusive interview with an online-pimp who agreed on condition that his identity is not revealed. Let’s just call him Samuel. I shall not disclose how I know him in order to protect him.

SHS: How did you get started?

Samuel: I started when I was around 19 years old. I dropped out of school after Secondary 4 failing my ‘N’ level. I held a few jobs which pays pittance and I was always broke. Soon I started betting on soccer with a local bookie and chalked up huge debt. In order to pay off my debt, I was offered a job as a runner for the bookie who also operates a loanshark syndicate. It was during this period where I came to know a few online-prostitution syndicate members. They know of my photoshop skill and recruited me to join them.

SHS: What does your job entails?

Samuel: They will send me picture of the girls and my task was to 'blur' out their face before advertising them on the internet. I also maintain a few blogs and also yahoo-group to recommend the girls to clients. At times, I also write FR (Field-Report) on the girls at sex forums so as to give them good reviews. If the girls are to operate in Massage palours, I will arrange for the shop to be renovated according to the requirement.

SHS: How do the syndicate source for the girls?

Samuel: We have overseas agents who will look for interested parties, they then liase with us in getting the girls here. Generally, we charge them according to the type of permits that they require:

a) Social Visit Pass – SGD500

b) 6 Months Entertainment Pass – SGD5,500 (Monthly Agent fee is SGD400)

c) 2 years Work Permit – SGD9,000 – 10,000 (Monthly Agent fee is SGD450)

SHS: How is work permit possible for such services?

Samuel: Of course the work permit will be for other jobs which the girls will never be there. If there are sufficient passports collected, a front company will be registered for this purpose. However, most of the time, the guarantee for being here in Singapore is only up to 1 year.

SHS: So how are you paid in doing so?

Samuel: I am paid for each job but I rather not talk about the actual amount openly. However, I do earn extra on the side. If the girls needs a place to stay, I will help them to find the place and may take a cut from there. If the massage palour requires renovation, I will partner with the contractor and also take a cut from there. I also arrange for the girls to have their sexy photoshoot which money can also be made there. On a slow month, I will bring back about SGD8000.

SHS: You do know that this is illegal right?

Samuel: Of course but this is a recession proof industry. How is one able to earn enough with my qualification? I have started to diversifying the things I do and invested into a loansharking business. I plan to stop once I earn enough to start my own business like selling handphones and pre-paid cards. We know that we are constantly being monitored by the authorities which is why we will do our activities only in cybercafes.

SHS: What is the trick in the business?

Samuel: The trick is how to make your girls look gorgeous even when they are not. Luckily there are make-up and push up bras that help us in our work. As long as the figure can be improved then it would be easy as the face will be 'blurred' anyway. In the worse situation, I will find pictures from the internet and photoshop it before using it. If the business for a particular girl is not good, we will also help her to post positive FR. There is a group of us doing it so getting a few good FR is easy. It is all about marketing.

SHS: What is the setback in the business?

Samuel:Beside the fear of being arrested, there is no CPF and no leave for the job. The job requires quite a bit of running around and liasing with people in getting the job done. So a car would be needed to get the job done. It is still okay if you are single when doing it but your partner may not be comfortable once she knows what you do for a living. The job is not easy and high risk, one should consider it seriously as some had been arrested even before they could enjoy their earnings.

The People Behind the PAP IB – Part II

Now for the next administrator of 'My Compass', Ngan Swee Heng.

Ngan who stays in Seletar Hills Estate Area, is a director of Algorhythm (s) Pte Ltd, a software firm, located at The Anchorage #03-04, 370B Alexandra Road, (S)159955.

If you try to goggle his name, it will not be hard to notice that Ngan is active in defending the PAP policies on various platforms and strange enough, he is often quoted by them. It seems that his views must be rather significant or very insightful for it to be constantly highlighted.  In the website (sghardtruth.com), it published an article “S’poreans respond to LKY’s comments on birth rate” (sghardtruth.com/2012/08/13/sporeans-respond-to-lkys-comments-on-birth-rate), Ngan was quoted saying “My parents had four children, and my wife’s parents had eight children. I have 2 children. I believe it was tougher for my parents and my wife’s parents to bring up their children than it was for me and my wife”…“Money is important but not all-important. Otherwise…poor people like me would be childless.

For someone who stays in private housing estate, probably landed property, does Ngan Swee Heng really consider himself poor? Does he truly understand anything about the common concerns and difficulties the average Singaporeans face? There are many who are struggling to make ends meet. If any of the readers here works for him, I hope he is paying you enough as he already consider himself poor. If you have any queries regarding his definition on ‘wealth’, you can ask him by sending him an email at ngan@algorhythm.com.sg.

(Editor's Note: The year end holiday season is coming and I will be spending more of my time with the family instead of writing. I will try to research on the rest of the administrators if I get the time. Meanwhile, if you think we share a common purpose, do share with me anything interesting at sghallofshame@gmail.com or like me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sporehallofshame.)
