Former Inspirational Leader Chan Soo Sen fine and disqualified for drink driving

This morning, the former inspirational leader of Combined Joo Chiat Vietnamese Pubs and Massage Parlours Employees Association, former Member of Parliament for Single Member Constituency Joo Chiat, former Minister of State for Education, Trade and Industry and Prime Minister's Office and member of the pristine People's Action Party, Chan Soo Sen, was charged in court with drink driving. He pleaded guilty and was fined $2000 and disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for a year.

He could be seen flashing his trademark constipated smile while his forehead glittered in the early morning sun as he left the court room. When interviewed by the media, Chan claimed that he had few drinks when he attended a charity fund raising dinner. He said he made two mistakes of driving his car there and not finding a replacement driver on his way back.

Chan, a recipient of the prestigious President Scholarship, was unceremoniously dropped from the corridors of power when he was not ask to run again on a PAP ticket in the 2011 elections. He was then only 55 years old, a relatively young age to be dropped as a MP.
