Prof Tey Tsun Hang a "white horse"
Despite being investigated in Apr by CPIB in the sex-for-grades case, Prof Tey Tsun Hang was allowed to continue teaching in NUS Law School until 26 July when he was charged in court and then suspended by NUS Law School on the same day.
Such special treatment was not granted to former SCDF Commissioner Peter Lim, ex-CNB Director Ng Boon Gay and NParks' Bernard Lim. These men were all suspended from duty once CPIB began investigations. Why is Prof Tey any different?
Unknown to many Singaporeans, Prof Tey is the favourite of the current NUS Law School Dean, Prof Simon Chesterman, who also happens to be the son-in-law of Singapore's President Tony Tan. Prof Chesterman allowed Prof Tey to continue teaching young impressionable female students while drawing his salary despite being fully aware of the on-going CPIB investigations.
Even though Prof Tey has broken the moral trust between teacher and student, NUS continues to place faith in him.
Prof Tey is a close associate of various judges and men in the corridors of power that rule. Otherwise, how would a Singapore PR and Malaysian come to be appointed as a district judge and state counsel in Singapore where political masters are especially wary of enemies from up north. How often do you see a PR in the upper echelons of the civil service?
There are speculations saying that Prof Tey might be not be convicted of the charges or the punishment would be a light slap on the wrist due to some back-door brokering.
A FORMER LAWYER
*The reader also shared that this is not the first extra-marital affair that Prof Tey had. He will be sharing more details with this website later.
Popular local political forum sammyboy leaked that Prof Tey came from a rich Malaysian family and had connections with Singapore elite.
While there are theories speculating that Prof Tey was charged because of his academic writings that are critical of the regime, many have pointed out that he is of no threat to the MIW and what he has written is common knowledge in Singapore cyberspace.
Public interest is still whether Prof Tey had screwed Darinne Ko where, when and how. Was Darinne Ko sent to 'fix' Prof Tey? It seems unlikely as Darinne is also from a rich and elite family. Or was Prof Tey unable to control his beastly instincts that drove him to taste the forbidden fruit of his 20 year-old student?
Some people say that Prof Tey was persecuted because he had written a lot of anti-govt stuff.
ReplyDeleteSome other people say that Prof Tey was protected because he was a white horse.
Which is correct? They can't both be true.
Writing anti-government stuff is perfectly fine. We have so many bloggers who are critical of PAP government and they are still writing. So to say that he was persecuted because of that is rubbish.
ReplyDeleteWas he forced to have sex with his student?
However, it is a fact that NUS continues to let him teach after CPIB probe.
To me, there isn't any comparison between speculation and fact.
Letting bloggers continue blogging and allowing a professor to continue teaching for writing anti-government stuff is totally different. They can stop you from teaching in a school by firing you - most extreme example was Chee Soon Juan.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what will happen with CPIB probe. Maybe they are taking the stand, innocent until proven guilty. If he is found guilty, he will almost certainly have to be sacked. Let's wait and see what happens after the court case to really understand what's going to happen.
Cut the crap about him coming from a rich family. He did not come from a rich family.
